Search Engine Strategies is next week! Back in February I wrote SES London 2008 – 10 Reasons To Attend and won Best Photo Of A Marketing Trend for the photo below which was part of a raft I took entitled A Few Pictures.
So now I’m making it to SES San Jose to support my Microsoft colleagues who are speaking at the conference here are 10 more reasons why you should attend:
- It’s the 10th Annual Event – 10 years is a long time in new media so there is bound to be some nostalgia and “the way we were” angles to a lot of the presentations
- I gather it’ll be the biggest ever held with over 4000 delegates to network with and learn from – Matt correct me if I’m wrong!
- Kevin Ryan has to be the wittiest moderator ever! Sure he’s not British and putting on that accent?
- The hotels are all pretty close together near the convention centre making easy access to all the bars for those late night secret strategy discussions
- The Google Dance – Always a hit and I do love the Googler’s faces after they ask me which company I work for!
- The Weather – It’s like October here in London – See what the BBC Weather has to say about San Jose!
- Black Hat White Hat session should be awesome, although I’ll probably only understand 25% of what they’re saying!
- The Keynotes Look Fab – Satya’s normally a hit so make sure you catch him!
- Dan Horton from Bronco tells me Dave Naylor is like a “caged tiger” right now so do catch him speaking where you can – it’ll be worth it I promise!
- I’ll be there and the first 10 people to mention the magic word “cricket” will get a beer and a T-Shirt from me!

I still love that pic! All those big wigs staring at their handhelds while on stage… Kevin, we should have a rule against that, no? I mean when you are on stage… the audience should be your number one concern!
In all seriousness Mel thanks for the post and as far as numbers are concerned we surpassed 4k a few weeks back!
See you next week… “cricket”
I’m certain Dave will deliver. Thanks for the mention Mel.
