Just spent an idyllic three days camping down at Summit Lake near Olympia in Washington.
It’s a long weekend here in America because of Memorial Day, so Ashley, the family and I descended on the Seffernick cabin in this quite beautiful part of the world.
Three nights spent fishing (more of that in another post), eating every BBQ food you can imagine, telling stories and singing around the camp fire!
Pre-butty bacon
Bob’s amazing carving
Ashley feeding the baby blueberry pancakes
It was a bit chilly. We were hoping the NW run of bad weather might break, but the clouds and sprinklings of rain didn’t dampen what was one of the most relaxing weekends we’ve had in months.
I didn’t check my phone or do any Twittering once either!
Must sub-consciously know I won’t have time for that when our baby’s born, so was getting some practice in.

Post coming soon about the big trout I didn’t catch……or did I?

Looks like fun in a cool setting. Some more details of geographic location would be good to save resorting to goog…. [ahem] Bing maps!
Beautiful weekend & great photos of camping Mel!

Now that looks like a whole bunch of joy. Great images.
